What a great year 2011 was. There were ups and downs, but as the year came to a close I was able to reflect on just how far I have come within the year. I know that I have taken a lot of steps in every direction but forward for a long period of time in my life...but I was able to evaluate where I was, realize I wasnt happy, and recognize the only way I knew where I could find happiness in 2011...it was by living the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Yes...I took a lot of steps in the wrong direction...but I was able to get back to moving forward!
As 2012 starts I have a few goals in mind...
1. Stay worthy of my temple recommend
2. Become more Christlike by reading my scriptures and saying my prayers daily, and attending church and taking the sacrament weekly to renew my covenants I have made.
3. Attend the temple atleast 3 times a month.
4. Get healthy
5. Accept forgiveness thru Christ, and offer forgiveness to those I still have not 100% forgiven.
Someone gave me this idea...but I am putting my goals in a box...and that box will stay out where I can see it year round...so that everytime I see this box, I will think of whats inside. I will open it New Years day 2013... and I will evaluate where I am at that time, and do it all over again for the next year!
Thank you to everyone who helped me find my way back to Christ in 2011...now I have to keep moving forward...and I do know how to do that.
Here's to a New Year!
Here is my scripture of reference when times get hard for 2012....
“Therefore, I would that ye should be steadfast and immovable,
always abounding in good works, that Christ, the Lord God Omnipotent, may
seal you his, that you may be brought to heaven, that ye may have everlasting
salvation and eternal life, through the wisdom, and power, and justice, and
mercy of him who created all things, in heaven and in earth, who is God above
all” - Mosiah 5:15
To be steadfast and immovable is to be solid, firm, resolute, firmly secured, and incapable
of being diverted from a primary purpose or mission....this is my ultimate goal for 2012!
